QUICKSTART TENNISThe Earlywine Tennis Center under the instruction of USPTA Head Pro Randy Painton will be using the new USTA format Quickstart Tennis. This program was developed by the United States Tennis Association for children ten and under.
What is Quickstart Tennis?
Quickstart Tennis is a new format to help kids ten and under learn and play the game of tennis. To make it easier for them the size of the court, rackets, and balls have changed.
What are the changes?
The size of the court is smaller, the net is often lower, and the balls are low compression.
Do these changes help?
Without a doubt, YES! With a smaller court children of this age will have more fun and gain confidence with the ability to cover the entire court, score points and build an all-court game. The game of tennis has just shrunk to their size. Think of this, we start pee wee baseball players on a smaller field than adults play on. Why not tennis? With lower compression balls, the balls are softer, move slower, and bounce lower for “their” height. This translates into the children having more fun playing with their friends and developing skills that will become the foundation of their game.
